Nov 4th - Canals, Clogs and Windmills

We arrived in Amsterdam after and interesting drive down from Copenhagen stopping at Ribe (Denmark), Heidi (Germany) and Bremen (Germany).

Our Amsterdam apartment is great (an old shop front on the ground floor) which means we have plenty of light and room to spread out. It has a basement master bedroom, but we're sleeping upstairs in the guest/baby's room. I think it would feel a little freaky sleeping below the street level with no window (although that is very common in Amsterdam due to extreme lack of land). The area is another hip upcoming area of the city (near Vondelpark) and only a 35 minute walk into town.

I can see the canal, but who's wearing the clogs and where are the windmills?
Now youv'e been to both Heidi's, one in Melbourne and the other in Germany. Lucky you! Your apartment looks good and the owners love your house too, especially the garden! They don't have grass surrounding their place. Enjoy your dry days, we on the other hand are waiting for some rain here. Have you tried some new cheeses?
